  1. This is a new one to me. I've been using bodyslide - a lot - for as long as it has been out for FO4. And just within the last week or so, the body in the preview window has turned all dark brown. Bodyslide as such works perfectly well. But the dark brown body makes it pretty hard to see the details. For now I stick to using the multitude of presets I have already. But if I would want to do my own it'd be a real problem. Any ideas?
  2. I was installing the mods listed: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2846/? I was able to complete the installation and run Skyrim with no crashes and was just starting my walk to Whiterun. Outside of Whiterun I meet Urthgerd who might have spent a little too much time in the sun. https://imgur.com/a/3jtqf Personally I'm not a fan of her anyway so I was able to look past this for the time being. I entered Whiterun and it seems Adrianne has a similar skin tone. Although, only from the neck up. https://imgur.com/a/XY8gI Upon further inspection, all of the characters (I'm assuming only the ones that were edited by the mod Bijin Warmaidens) have 'dark' faces and the rest of their appearance is normal. https://imgur.com/a/yg5Fo I got a good laugh at this (hopefully you do too.) But all jokes aside, I would really appreciate it if I could get help troubleshooting this. Carlotta is looking a little demonic... During the installation of the mods, I was double checking that everything was working correctly as I got to the points in the guide it told me to and I know for a fact that these issues weren't there until after step 10. I have no idea how to trouble shoot NMM as this is my first time using it and trying out heavily modded skyrim. I used the Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel mod in step 11.
  3. So I recently downloaded Skyrim again on a new computer. Its been over a year since the last time I played. I like my game modded so I went to my download history here on Nexus and got most of my favorite mods that I used to have. The main ones I used to give it the look that I wanted were RealVision ENB and Enhanced Lights and FX. I really like how my game used to look but my new game looks nothing like my old game.. even though its all the same mods. Its way too dark even in the day time. Ive tried changing the enb settings but it doesn't seem to do anything. Ive tried everything that I could find to fix it but I cant figure it out. Here are some pictures of how my game used to look during the day time. But now my game looks like this all the time. The sky is grey all the time and I cant see the sun. This is from the brightest time of day I could find. Night is even worse of course. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Can someone please help me figure out how to get it vibrant and bright again?
  4. Hello everyone! So I recently completed a play test of a heavily modded Skyrim which turns Skyrim into a survival game and removes most settlements from the game and beefs up the difficulty. The video can be found here: Skyrim Dark Fantasy/Horror Things to note: I am forever tweaking this. In the video it shows me using Hunterborn but I am not happy with that mod as its bit clunky. I only used it for the wearable lantern add-on that allowed for the lantern oil to be crafted but I have made my own separate mod that does that. I am also currently doing testing on the mod list with the Combat mod Vigor. To see how combat could be changed. You can learn more about my play though and the updated mod list as it evolves on my blog Deadly Skyrim If anyone has some suggestions to further enhance the gameplay let me know! Its a constant evolving modlist so ideas are welcome. My modlist for the video:
  5. So I've been trying to solve this problem forever. With females, I can blend head and body textures fine, but for some reason, males have one dark spot on their upper chests as shown in the pictures. First I thought it was just the face that was pale until I saw the map of the body as well. I tried researching online, but nobody had this problem. The mods I use for males (or both sexes) are: Pretty face for men Final younger characters Xenius Character Enhancement High Res Face Maps by Geonox Fine Face Textures for Men by Urshi DCE Realistic Male Face I've tried disabling and enabling each and every one of these and running it through the texture blender, but the dark spot was always there. I even tried SkySight Skins and disabled all of the above so I have a single face and body texture pack, but nope. I have no clue what else to try. Also, the specular option on blending is always black for me for some reason, even though my directory path is correct.
  6. Hi there. I just started experiencing a distracting lighting bug today in Skyrim. In particular, characters near local light sources are lit up in a wonky manner. Dark or shadowy rectangular patterns and vertical lines are cast on their bodies by light sources, which annoyingly flicker as well. Background: I've been playing a game for a few weeks now. I've installed about a dozen plugins without issue prior to today. I was inspired to install IcePenguin's Quality World Map plugin, the paper map version (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4929/?). Perhaps it was a bad idea to also decide to reorder my plugin load order in Nexus Mod Manager at the same time. The one and only time I ran the game with both of these changes in place, the game crashed and closed itself before reaching the main menu. I then rechecked the map plugin info, and realized I didn't have all the requirements for it to run (a DLC is required which I do not have). So I disabled and uninstalled the map plugin entirely. When I ran the game a second time, it did not crash. But I noticed for the first time that the lighting was really off. Dark vertical lines of shadow appeared on both my character's body and that of Lydia (the housecarl), as if cast by the fire pit in my Breezyhome kitchen (in Whiterun). These lines also flickered noticeably. I closed the game without saving, and moved my plugin order back to its previous order known to work well. Still, the lighting was off. Even worse this time, in fact, as the lines got darker and more pronounced, and now flicker quite annoyingly now. I closed the game and did a search for this issue, but I failed to find any help. Present Situation: I keep getting the same problem each time I run the game. I've attached images of the lighting problem for you to visually inspect, as well as a screenshot of my NMM-installed plugins and their load order. I had to shrink them to meet the size limit, hope you can make them out. My character, a bosmer female wearing armor from the Nordic Ranger Outfit mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25113/?tab=3&selected_game=110&navtag=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fid%3D25113%26user%3D1%26gid%3D110&pUp=1), has no clothing patterns, no tattoos, and no scars, btw - the patterns you see are the problem I am experiencing. Note that I do not (I don't think?) have any plugins that alter the vanilla lighting code of Skyrim. Though, obviously, either the map plugin, or perhaps reordering my plugin load order, or both, changed the lighting behavior in a very bad and distracting way. Perhaps I can backup my save files, uninstall and reinstall everything, and see if that helps repair the lighting engine, though I'd rather find a simpler fix. Perhaps installing a particular lighting mod might help? Please help me recover my game. Thanks! Peace, Brian P.S. Other info which may or may not be important: - I have no DLCs installed. I bought Skyrim as soon as it came out, and haven't bought Dawnguard, etc. - Game version is 1.9.32.0, according to TESV.exe's file properties. - The game is installed in the default location (C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim). - I'm using NMM version 0.63.14. - I installed LOOT version 0.11.0, as recommended (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1592053-how-to-ask-for-help/), to help troubleshoot this issue. I do not see where to click Details to view the log, however. the main screen tells me that Update.esm has 3 deleted references, and that plus a few others have a lot of ITM records. - I have SKSE installed. No idea where to find the version number, though LOOT tells me I'm up to date. - My system specs: Custom-built desktop running Windows 7 Pro x64. Intel i5 CPU, ASUS mobo, Radeon HD 6900 series video adapter (I think a 6950, offhand), 16 GB RAM, 500 MB SSD (for the OS & program installs) and two 1 TB hard disks (one for my data, one for data backup).
  7. I've noticed a severe lack of love on the SE nexus for the dark brotherhood aside from a few retextures. I remember plenty of mods from the old nexus (I believe one mans name was deacon who had a whole armor and weapon set for the Listener) Is anyone working on anything, or knows if the old authors give permission to port their mods over? Aside from a few mods that alter all uniques (Legendaries Forever and such) I haven't found anything substantial.
  8. Hi, I am looking for an armor/clothing mod that will fit with this play through (and others later on). First time playing as a vampire and I really want clothing/armor that will just look downright mean and badass but still sexy....not naked. I am a female and normally play as a female and I like some modesty so I don't have my characters running around in string bikinis and such because I want immersion, realistic look that looking at it your like oh yeah that is pretty cute/sexy but she won't freeze to death the second she steps outside....but this time as a vampire the cold really doesn't matter. I still don't want string bikinis and thongs but I do want something a little more seductive, maybes robes that show legs, arms and back due to tattoos lol (no point in having them on her if I can't see them) I've seen a few mods that could do what I really want but it's either the wrong color (needing all black or black with red in it...ok not needing just really wanting.) or it was just awkward looking. Warhammer Sorceress Robes I love love but they don't fit with color and then I found another armor that was beyond perfection....but from the looks of it the mod is very big and taking some major time or it's dead (I will post a pic below for some sort of reference). Ok anyways if anyone has seen, uses, used or created an armor mod like this pleeeeeeeaaaasssee give me a link. I am a major perfectionist with stuff like this so it's driving me nuts because she just looks wrong lol. I know it's stupid but yeah. Clover
  9. Just saw there was a lacking in 'evil' or 'dark' robes/armor for people that like to play those type of characters. I'm interested in making something similar being shown here ---> http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Pale_Master It does not have to be as intricate or detailed obviously, just something with bone/skull appearance on the torso maybe the same on the arms/legs. Was also thinking back to the original neverwinter nights CEP project and how they added in 'skirts' that people would attach to upper armor pieces to create their own custom robes by mixing and matching pieces. Seems like you could get the same effect by making a single piece of attachable armor that covers up the legs like a 'robe' or skirt' would do and assign it to a ankle or knee slot. Anyone interested in tackling this or helping me figure out the quickest and easiest way to do this, I would release this for the public to use as they wish. The only program I have is GMAX, I've considered buying a month of 3ds max but not sure if i'd be wasting my money, basically i'm looking for guidance from anyone willing.
  10. In FNV if you are using mods that make nights dark it annoys me when im fighting npcs, they can hit me like its bright day but i cant see s#*!. Need a mod that makes npcs less accurete at nights, or maybe even dark interiors.. There is a game setting fNPCMaxGunWobbleAngle that affects npc accuracy, just need a script that increases that at nights, (or dark interiors).
  11. Hello, my interiors are very dark using the Tamriel Reloaded enb. In the screenshots the interiors aren't that dark, but mine are pitch black. Here's a screenshot of my game https://postimg.org/image/ckhifiq87/ I am using climates of tamriel and realistic lighting overhaul. I have chosen all of the brightest options when installing those 2 mods. Please help.

  13. Hi all! I was playing through the start of the Dark Brotherhood again, and an idea came to me. We're all familiar with that creepy, run-down cabin that Astrid whisks us away to, where she 'forces' us to kill one (or more) of the bound abductees before us. I was left wondering what happens to the victims that are spared- and, more interestingly, what it would be like to be in their shoes. I think this would be an interesting alternate start to the game, but I sadly lack the modding experience to make it. Upon start, the screen will be in first person, and dark enough to barely see- maybe a burlap-like texture overlay? Movement disallowed and hands bound, just like the other victims. The player will be able to hear Astrid and the Brotherhood inductee carrying through the typical dialogue for the situation. The inductee speaks to each prisoner, "Who are you" "Why would someone want you dead?", they give their answers. They're of course killed- each time you hear the weapon landing and their last words, or screams, or yells. The NPCs that are prisoners will be unique, added by the mod to not interfere with the players own initiation should they choose to join the Dark Brotherhood. When the inductee gets to the player, we are given consequential dialogue options. Depending on how the responses sit with Mr.Assassin, you will either be left to release yourself somehow (that will give its own options) or he will cut the bindings before leaving. His first question, "Who are you?" prompts character creation. The UI overlay 'burlap sack' is temporarily removed. Upon completion, overlay is added back and returns to dialogue sequence. The options for his "Why would someone want you dead option" are not set in stone, as it depends on the modder who decides to pick this up (if any). But, I think it'd minimally be something like this; "Why would someone want you dead?" A1: "I don't know.. Please, let me go!" A2: "Same as you. I'm a threat." *Suppose that A1 doesn't sit well with him, he'll leave you to fend for yourself. -He will state that you're too pitiful to even bother killing, or something similar -When Astrid and Mr.Assassin leave, the door will open and close signaling that it is now safe to escape. Movement will be returned to PC, who can now explore the cabin. Going to the door and using it will "Call for help". This option will prompt a 'nearby' hunter to investigate. Dialogue for this path is up in the air. The rescuer will cut the player loose and remove the burlap sack, take the player out of the cabin and offer refuge at his camp. Probably a chest and a barrel with useful survival items there. The player may A: Go with him. B: Refuse and start adventuring. *Should the player choose the A2 path, the assassin's interest will be piqued. He will laugh to himself slightly, and cut the bindings. Right before he opens the door to leave, the player removes the burlap sack themselves and watches the assassin leave. -From here, the player may easily leave the cabin and do whatever they want. To start the main scenario, just head to Whiterun gates. The guard will already know about the dragon attack on Helgen, because it will be assumed that all of that mayhem went down without you. Instead of denying entry, he will suggest getting behind the city walls quickly in case the threat is real and still in the area. *Regardless of the paths chosen in the start, the PC may join the Dark Brotherhood as usual. **This part may be a separate follower mod** The assassin (In my head he's based on one of my favorite characters from an old save, Lann. Imperial, dual swords but prefers sniping with a scoped bow. Wears the Dark Brotherhood cloth hood, and penitus oculatus armor as a taunt to them) is present at the Sanctuary. His presence in the Sanctuary (Falkreath and Dawnstar) is inconsequential to the Brotherhood story line. Lann should remember the player based on the interactions from the alternate start (If applicable) A1 chosen path, his greeting will be similar to "Oh, would you look at that. You're not such a miserable excuse after all!" or, for A2, "And now our family is twice as threatening." Any interactions further from this will be more generic, unless someone would like to go more in-depth with him as a follower. Tagging him as eligible for marriage (male and female) would be a nice perk as well. Thank you to anyone having taken the time to read through this or consider bringing it to fruition.
  14. So, I was using CoT and ELFX that made my game a little darker at night, in interiors, dungeons and etc. It was alright because the interiors such as inns and houses were always illuminated with torches and candles and in dungeons I could just use my lantern. Then I downloaded Vivid Weathers and it made my game even darker, but this time, even my lantern mod's illumination has been decreased and I struggle to see my surroundings (except in buildings) even when my lantern is on and I've selected the ultra interior brightness. Then I switched from Wearable Lanterns to Quick Light and noticed that the latter is much brighter, but when I crouch, the brightness significantly decreases (because it goes into the thigh?). I didn't notice this difference with WL first because it had weaker lighting. Is there any way to fix the crouching bug or illumination in dungeons and at night in general or am I gonna have to alter the recommended gamma for VW? (I'm not sure what happens if you don't tweak the .ini file as the modder insisted)
  15. Does the snow in the special edition appear really dark and greyish to anyone else, or is it just something with my game? I hate it because snow should look quite bright, especially with the bright sun right overhead.
  16. Has anybody noticed that snow seems awfully glossy and almost black when viewed up close at night? This issue becomes clearly visible when you see a guard following a road at night with a torch, or if the moonlight shines down on the snow, producing a peculiar glossiness onto the terrain. I thought it may have something to do with the Reshade package, and though it does seem to exaggerate the effect it is not the cause of it.
  17. so i've been going through a few enb's for my skyrim but can't find the one i like. mostly do to things that bother me. so in question are there any enb's that adds really colorful lighting, but also keeps the interiors like caves, taverns, etc, dark inside? i'm trying out more color enb's but the interiors are always so damn bright. i like dark nights as well, to the point where i'm forced to use a torch or lamp. another huge issue is film grain.. like some enb's have this film grain effect on the screen and it just destroys the visual quality of my textures. so basically, are there any enb's that give me a win on both these ends. dark nights, dark interiors, no grain, and much color. posting pictures helps as well
  18. My ENB looks very weird, there are missing ground textures, the day look dark as the night. Loot says the load order is fine, i've cleaned the skyrim.esm, update.esm, dragonborn.esm, hearthfire.esm and dawnguard.esm at TES5Edit. My game with ENB on : http://i.imgur.com/4eir4Aa.jpg My game with ENB off : http://i.imgur.com/IeH9kd8.jpg My NMM load order: http://i.imgur.com/qS10gCE.png My Loot : http://i.imgur.com/jjPAtk6.png My Pc Specs : GTX 970 Xtreme Gaming, i5 2500 3.3Ghz, 8Gb RAM, 2x 1tb HD, Windows 10. Edit: Game Screenshots were taken at the same ingame time.
  19. Playing through New Vegas Bounties III - A centurion mentions the that the "speculators" or "speculari" are investigating him for possible corruption. I thought to myself - what if these guys had a leader? what would he look like? what persona/title - mythological or otherwise would have been awarded to him by caesar? After watching some of the in game cutscenes from Ryse I think the damocles character would have suited this role perfectly, to a T. A vengeful legion wraith who answers to caesar alone? Think of him as lanius's shadow, lanius being a hammer to root out weakness so to speak and damocles being a scalpel to cut out hints of corruption in the legion and its territories. This is a mod request for Damocles-inspired legion armor and helmet
  20. Can someone tell me how I can make the ambient lighting of an interior cell dark as possible, because I want to give it some scary touch. Â http://fs5.directupload.net/images/160910/2o4qvzz7.jpg
