  1. Everyone has always recommended apps like Audacity for editing the wav files for the gunshot sounds and whatnot in Fallout 4. I go to great lengths to make all the sounds sound as realistic as I can, usually every playthrough I do it differently. But now I found out that Wavosaur is the only app I've found that can even detect "Loop Points" in the fully automatic wav files. These loop points are invisible to Audacity and lost when you save a file with even apps like DB Power Amp Producer's Edition in my experience. However, any wav saved through Wavosaur is perfectly playable, because it detects and saves the loop points as well as other things which it can detect that are a little too complicated for me so I don't mess with them. More cool info for those who actually edit wav files for Fallout 4 all the time: After going to the "Process" drop-down menu and then hovering over "Volume", it offers to boost/quiet the volume of the track by 6 decibels or you can hit custom to select an integer yourself. Much like Audacity's "Amplify" ability. There are many many other tools that Audacity does not have, however, but not a one that Wavosaur doesn't have as far as I know. But it sure is nice being able to edit wav files now, and attach loop points to sound I take from Star Wars Battlefront II to be used with various modded laser weapons, making incompatible full auto wav files suddenly compatible with Fallout 4. Also Wavosaur can arrange several wav files into a Loop Pointed single wav file. This is cool because a lot of wav files I pull from various video games and websites are broken into pieces for full auto.
  2. I'm making an armor mod with cloth physics. The physics generally work well and look good, but there is one problem. As you can see on the picture, when character's weight is anything other than 100 or 0, strange shadows appear all over the skirt. Strangely, the physics seem to work fine despite the shadows. My process is: paint weights in the outfit studio, conform the model to sliders, then build the outfit in bodyslide. If anyone here has experience with this or could direct me to someone who does, I would greatly appreciate it.
  3. Dmc5 Keyboard and mouse functionality is top tier in comparison to past titles, however there is one thing that holds it back from feeling completely fluid. The camera. When I am able to continually re-position the camera behind my character, the combat feels seamless and smooth. However, when the character is around the edge of an arena, the camera is forced to specific angles that are a lot of the time not ideal. Would someone be able to create a mod that stops the game from rotating the camera, as well as allow the camera it to be positioned outside of the boundaries? This would be much appreciated :)

You can find the plugin needed to get the launch options by downloading frosty version 1.0.6.2,extracting it, open the plugin file in frosty mod manager which is where you'll see LaunchPlatformPlugin, move this plugin to the newest frosty mod manager, in the plugin file. I also recommend getting frostyfix. After that go to the frosty mod manager settings and you'll see launch options. With frosty fix go to settings and you'll see a few options. Also I suggest getting datapathfix as well,it goes into the plugin folder too.   7. Hello. I'm looking to get into modding graphics for Mad Max. However, it seems that my lack of technical knowledge is biting me in the butt. I've got some Resoref mods, and can get those to work fine. I'd like to do some modding on things like the Black Tar texture for various cars to make it less "black on white" and more "black on black" for a first project. I've been able to edit some files in GIMP and get them to look nice, but I'm not sure if I'm messing something up on import/export or what. I can't get any edited DDS file to not crash my D3D device by causing a graphical spasm and infinite loop error as soon as the offending file is viewed (or as soon as the intro movie plays, for things like Max's clothing), resulting in having to close Mad Max through the task manager and replace the offending file with an unmodded version. If someone could walk me through the process and help me figure out where I'm messing up and how to fix that, or at least point me to an existing tutorial on the subject, that would be great.
  8. Is there a tool, a DLL or a program that makes it completely safe to uninstall scripted mods just like it was with Fallout 3 and Oblivion? This could range from a nearly perfect save cleaner to a SKSE plugin that changes the way savegames work. These are the examples I had in mind. So, anything new?

Idk what I did wrong but buffout 4 is not working for me, I download the files manually like they said to do, put the files in their designated places and still nothing, the logs keeps telling me that buffout has not values or whatnot and same for the other files it required to work. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  11. Hello guys, I hope you can help me. Every time I edit an ms2 file with Blender (Blender 4.0 , Cobra Master Tools Blender Addon 3.0.2) or just import it and then export it again without editing or changing it, the changes are applied in the game, but the objects disappear as soon as you scroll to the right or left edge of the screen. Or have an acute angle to the respective object. As an example, I have two pictures for comparison. The model was the TV screen (C5-Environment-Facilities-BB_Billboards). I hope someone can help me to find the reason for this. Is there perhaps another program for editing the ms2 files? PS: All my graphic drivers are up to date and my settings set to ultra!

  13. Hey, I have some weird upward streching in some textures, I dont really know what to call this possible clitch so I wasnt sure how to find a fix for it. My other thought is that some mod is causing it, but i am not sure what. Has someone had a similiar problem, and what was the fix for it? Help would be appriciated.
  14. Use this thread to claim unique modding ID numbers for your mods. Because the modding system in KCD uses numbers to ID different database entries of new dialogs and assets, I thought it handy to have a thread where people can list the ID's they like to use for their mods to prevent clashes with others. People can then use this list to see what is not yet been used, or talk about clashes they discovered between mods. I'll try to update this top post regularly with new ID's posted in this thread (maybe some mods could help as wel) If you need information about what to do with the ID's and how to use them in the Database, here is a link to Warhorse Studios original post https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Setting_up_Database You don't need an ID if your mod does not use the database! The lowest ID number for this list is 10,000 (ten thousand) and registers go with an increase of 1000. Which means you'll get the ID You claim up until ___999 of that thousand part. So for every claim you get a thousand unique IDs. Example: You claim ID 102000. Then you can to use ID number 102000 to 102999 without clashing. Iv been playing modded fallout 3 for the past week now and it’s been working fine took so time to get everything working I had trouble with textures and certain mods not working but I could put the issue I had two archive invalidations so I used base vortex archive invalidation and properly downloaded fwe and all of the required stuff for it everything worked great and I was loving it I downloaded one mod or two and I was excited to use them cuz they where armor mods now my entire game is broken and went back to missing textures and mods not working properly like archive invalidation isn’t doing what it’s supposed to so iv been working on it for a couple of days reinstalling fallout 3 again turning archive invalidation off and on iv tried installing a manual version and even tried disabling the new mods I had nothing works and im still facing the same issue and I was wondering if anyone would know how to help and no it’s not ttw I got base fallout 3 goty on steam
  17. So here I'm trying to do what I THOUGHT would be a simple thing. I'm trying to add an additional effect to the vanilla perks. Specifically I want to add an area fear effect to occur when you eat a corpse with Cannibal. I figured it makes sense and would make it a somewhat less useless perk, chomp down in the middle of a fight and you get a bit of breathing room instead of just a pathetic healing effect. Channel that inner Cannibal Johnson or throw some Tyson into the mix. I made it basic as hell and without much consideration but it should vaguely work - the only demoralize effect in F4 vanilla was the syringer ammo Yellow Belly which counts as a poison. Small blessing there, I just kept that in because robots and bugs would not be affected by fear, while animals have high enough poison resistance I don't think it matters - if somehow I freak out a deathclaw with this I'll adjust that later. I kept the same value at 95 but dropped the duration to a few seconds since it's supposed to be AOE so in theory this should just scare away everything not excluded. Well I had to make a whole new magic effect to run, since I think this is a "target location" cast and not on self and you can't seem to mix the two on a single effect. So I made a new demoralize magic effect named Gross Terror. Then I made a new spell called Cannibal Fear to run with vanilla Cannibal Heal, three levels of effect based on what rank of Cannibal you have. Cannibal Heal is "cast" with the EAT CORPSE activation. So I shoehorned Cannibal Fear into the same spot but it gave me a compile error. Compiling "Fragments:Perks:PRKF_Cannibal_0004B259"... I supposed I need to mess with some sort of script trigger. I shoved: PerkCannibalFear.Cast(Game.GetPlayer(), Game.GetPlayer()) and SPELL Property PerkCannibalFear Auto Const To the fragment scripts of the three Cannibal ranks. I probably did that wrong since I just copied and pasted them under the PerkCannibalHeal lines in each segment. That got rid of the errors from compile at least but it doesn't seem to trigger anything. I've messed around with it a bit now but nothing I can do makes it actually WORK. No level of the perk affects any targets, even the lowest level raiders. What am I missing? I'm sure this is because I did something wrong or presumed badly - or because I shoved values into the "spell" area of the "magic effects" of a game that tries to dummy those out.

His system however had a few pitfalls: The list had to be manually updated by him or moderators, which hasn't happened since November 2019As a consequence of this, there were quite a few clashing IDsAnd because people were too lazy to read, IDs were claimed that did not end with 000 which undermines the system he tried to put in placeTherefore I present you V 2.0, a shared excel sheet where you can claim your unique IDs: CLAIM YOUR ID HERE I already filled in all valid IDs I found in the comments of the original post but as alluded to before, there were quite a few invalid IDs. Next will follow a list of users who as a result of this will have to claim a new ID: I will also back up the list periodically in this post in case Microsoft's servers get destroyed: You can find the reason why the IDs start at 1000 instead of 100000 here. If you don't know what any of this means, I refer you to the wiki.

  20. I seem to be unable to run BG3 with my installed mods (mostly Character/Utilities/Gameplay mods). I recently just installed a few new ones and had to install a new runtime, but it's not letting me use any of the older or newer mods. I've gone through and updated everything as well as deleted and disabled mods I didn't need or want, while making sure to keep mods that others ran off of. For some reason, though, it still won't work. I figured after trying all of that, that it may be an issue with the load order, but it gave me the message below after making me reinstall the LSLib several times. I've tried restarting the application or trying to run BG3 over again, but it won't work. I'm not sure what I've done wrong, since I'm not good with modding, and need some help.
  21. I am kind of curious why the ID Tech 2 engine games haven't made it to this site yet. I know MOD DB has Doom Mods. Trust me, I have even made tutorials on ZDoom launcher. I am kind of curious that vortex doensn't have support for it though. Or this site rather. Like, mod sorting can still get complex with that game if you don't knwo what you are doing, albeit its not skyrim or Fallout levels of frustraition but if any of yall played Cluster f*#@, god. I have recently started playing fallout 4 and made the move from Doom to take a break as I have gotten a little burnt out on the mods there and wanted to use more than a couple of my brain cells. Granted its still a passion of mine. But I wanted to know if there were any other doomers here as well?
  22. Rather new to modding, I'm working on a companion mod. I already have a decent chunk of the groundwork done, however I may need assistance. I have been currently following tutorials on youtube, however some of these videos appear to be outdated or perhaps less ethical or practical. I do hope there's someone left in this community who could help with that given it seems like this forum is pretty small these days. Regardless, the goal for this companion is to create a new generation styled companion. Something unique like famous companion mods such as Willow, Niner, Russell, Desmond Harper and most recently (2 years ago) the Molerat companion mod. I would like to create something of an equal quality and caliber. If you are interested or can get me in contact with people who might be interested, let me know. What I need done; - Polishing some scripts and adding some for specific dialogues. - Creating a quest for this companion - Creating a custom unique apparel for this companion. What I have done already; - Created a fully functional companion with a companion wheel and dialogue. - Created the model and face (duh) - Extracted the .nif files to create the mesh rip outfit I want for him. - Used nifskope to put the pieces together. - Removed certain parts I wanted removed in Blender (Although I may have to have this redone since I feel like I'm doing it wrong.) - Tested voice lines. (Only one so far but I plan on recording more.)
  23. for example: I want to add hairstyles from "aniceoaktrees hairstyles" and from "apachii skyhair" mods to custom "children race". launch "forgotten construction set.exe" select mods with hairstyles that you want to import then select mod where you want to add these hairstyles. last modified mod should be "active" (it's custom race mod). navigate to "Races", find desired race (in my case "Greenlander Child"), double-click. open "hairs" from drop menu, click "add". choose hairstyles that you want to be added. save your mod file. Enjoy!
  24. My main suggestion or idea would be NPC Priority. What I mean by this is a mod that makes enemies focus everything on the battlefield evenly. When I encounter a group of NPCs fighting, I find it annoying that they all switch to ignoring each other and fighting me and only me. I want the world to feel as if I'm not the main center of everything. If a group is fighting each other, when I arrive, I want them to continue fighting each other, until I hit one, and the one I HIT, fights me. It just feels wack.
  25. I'm looking to start up a new save file but with mods. Ideally, id like mods that rework everything from textures and physics to adding new stores, new side quests, QoL stuff, etc. At the same time, i have an unmodded save and would like to have a way to keep unmodded vs. modded saves separate without having to enable/disable mods manually. Does such a thing exist? is it even feasible?
