I have RDR2 on steam. I have Vortex and have downloaded several RDR2 mods. I have followed numerous videos and âhow toâsâ on how to download and install Vortex. Along with how to download mods. I also have the correct file path for the RDR2.exe. However, I cannot get mods to work in Vortex. They are downloaded, installed, and RDR2 is ready but they are not showing up. For example, some mods have hot keys of some kind and there are not working. Anyone have some advice or have another thread that talked about RDR2 on Steam and using Vortex?

I have wanted to replay this since i bought my new pc November 2023, but i get instant crashes when I'm not on low quality settings. system specs below. I'm running this from Steam. Its a new machine and should run this with no problems. I've read several threads pointing it needing to be installed on a Hard Drive verses Solid State drive(unfortunately I didn't read about this issue before i decided to purchase this machine or i would've made sure I bought a machine that had a hard drive already in it...) i bought this thing and an extra SSD card to put in. It has SATA cables and I can install my old hard drive into but i was really hoping someone had made a mod for this issue by now. Surely I thought, someone would've made one to stabilize the crashing. I tried both the DirectX9 and single core allocation fixes but neither worked. I don't think the directx9 fix even did anything because when i looked in the game configure file program is said it was running directx 12.... I can load the game, and repeatedly crash upon arriving to Ostagar, usually around the place where the save is triggered. A couple times went to an older save file and loaded in from that and it was fixed for a bit but then returned to regular cashing, I also read that being logged into your EA account would be ill advised(but i never had it logged in to begin with)

Hi, Opening Vortex today, I couldn't find anymore my Fallout4 in the Managed Section. Tried to install it manually but my mods were no longer active , and an error message appears : "Failed to set game mode Fallout4". Tried to install manually the path but it said "this directory doasn't appear to contain the game" . Just for info : the day before, I removed the external hard drive D:/ and put back before opening my computer again. At the bottom, some screenshots of the drama Vortex version 1.11.7 (11.06.2024) Fallout 4 nextGen something like 43 mods ( still have my downloads history). Windows 10, 16 RAM, x64. Everythink worked perfectly since I installed F4 and mods) hope someone could help me ! So I got an issue with message boxes coming up blank. Like the kind when you select a rune to change from warrior to rogue or steed or something or when it asks if you want to turn on survival mode - actually the survival mode one came up normal but the others are not. It's blank, but the options to click are available to select. Another issue is that NPCs sometimes to not respond. I walk up to them, press E then... nothing. When I try to load a save, it says the save is corrupted. I can leave and go to the main menu to try and load from there, but the game kinda freezes in the loading screen, with the mouse still visible and able to move around oddly enough. I have to use console commands to quit and start back up. Once I do, the game loads, the NPCs talk to me and things go well... for a while, then the unresponsiveness starts all over again. Because I've tried to uninstall the mods and the game and reinstall them at least twice and it still comes back to this. I can't figure out which specific mod or combination of mods is causing this so I don't know which to exclude or patch or replace or whatever needs to be done.

Ok so I'm at my last straw. Two days ago vortex updated, After that it wouldn't see Skyrim anymore. I decided to try and uninstall the game and reinstall it. Now steam downloads It, and at the end says "disk write error". I tried to uninstall again, remove EVERY file on my PC named "Skyrim" or anything of the sort, and It doesnt work. And It JUST doesnt work with Skyrim - I tried to install a differenti game and It works fine. I literally have no idea what to do at this point, pls help

I factory reset my pc just in case so everything is fresh, but it persists. I want to minimize unnecessary mods and redundancies. I realize that what I am looking for may not exist so I’m planning on creating my own mod list and possibly uploading it as a collection (not saying I definitely will). This will be for the latest steam Skyrim AE. Any recommendations on existing collections or mods for my own, that still work, would be greatly appreciated.

I want to install Creation Kit for Fallout 4 and Steam is the only way I can since no one posted it to Nexus or elsewhere like they do for past Bethesda games. Problem is my game doesn't have the next gen update installed so Steam will probably try to install an updated Creation Kit if it can even install it with my app manifest file set to read only for FO4. I see that the Downgrader mod for this update has settings regarding the CK & no one has been able to answer me on the mod page or Reddit so I'm asking here: Do I need the Downgrader to make CK work with Fallout 4 even if the game is not on the next gen update? If yes, can I run the Downgrader WITHOUT it touching my game since it's not even updated?

Hi everyone, I'll try to guide you through how you can install The Witcher 3 mods on your Steam Deck. It's actually pretty simple, enter desktop mode and let's get started. Set up Q4Wine Q4Wine is a Qt GUI for Wine. It will allow you to run Windows executables with ease. You can install it from Discover app. We will now create a new wine prefix for The Witcher 3. Launch Q4Wine, navigate to "Prefixes" tab and press "Add New Prefix" icon. No need to change any advanced settings, just give it a name and change its path if you like. Allow Q4Wine to access the game directory Install Flatseal from Discover, we will use it to give Q4Wine permission to access all user files. Open Flatseal, select q4wine, turn on "All system files" option under "Filesystem" section. Open Q4Wine, select "system" under the prefix you created, then run "winecfg". Under "Drives" tab, check "Show dot files" option and save. Restart Q4Wine, run "explorer" under your prefix to see if you're able to access steam folder: "/home/deck/.steam" Inside Q4Wine explorer, based on your installation, your game directory should appear in; Internal storage: "Z:/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common" SD card: "E:/steamapps/common" You will use this path when prompted to enter game directory by Mod Manager and Script Merger. Point the game's user data to your local This step is crucial because Mod Manager and Script Merger will try to find your "The Witcher 3" user data directory inside "Home/Documents". First locate your "Documents/The Witcher 3" directory, it should be in "Home/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/292030/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents". Make sure you have enabled hidden files in Dolphin settings. Copy the contents of "steamuser/Documents" to "Home/Documents" and delete the documents directory inside "steamuser". This is referring to my Steam Skyrim which I have uninstalled awhile ago and I've gotten rid of it's executable containing Skyrim Special Edition for Steam. G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common still exists cuz that's where Baldur's Gate 3 is in and I might want to mod it one day lol. The recent Skyrim update that occurred on the 5th of December last year was so frustrating for me, that's why I gotten rid of my Steam Skyrim as I'm unable to play it! Yes, I've downloaded mods many people from the community claimed to be working for them, but not for me so hench I cut my losses. One thing I forgot to do when uninstalling Steam Skyrim was to manually get rid of all my mods I played for previously, if I gotta get rid of all of them so be it, I would love a clean start anyways. UPDATE: I don't know how to feel about this. I exited Vortex, then got onto it again and then I find my GOG SKSE64 2.2.3 has now decided to load in, my game launched normally and to make things even awesome, I've activated the mod Alternate Start - Live Another Life to see if everything is actually working out for the first time in awhile and lo and behold, the mod works!! The downside is I keep getting a message (from the mod (Part 1) SSE Engine Fixes probably being the culprit...) that couldn't load a plugin and me continuing to load my game involves lost save data and such and such, fun... I've being told that I shouldn't really worry about this as this mod in question has yet to be updated but I don't know, I might have to keep digging in my own time if me losing my save data could occur and I wouldn't want that in my new playthrough!! Hi all, First time using NexusMods with Vortex; I went that route because I read some of the mods I wanted to try for BG3 would work better if Vortex installed them. Well, I went through Vortex, set it up using the tutorial videos, chose about a dozen mods I wanted to try, and then tried to launch my BG3. It loads VERY quickly but then just hits 100% and I get the spinning circle of "still loading" for ever. I waited half an hour, no change... So, now I can't launch BG3 anymore. I tried using Vortex, I tried using Steam (which worked fine an hour ago), and both give the same results. How can I fix this? At this point I'm willing to go back to no mods at all if it means I don't lose access to my favorite game. I just wanted to make my rogue a swashbuckler and pick up a bag of holding, nothing too crazy! Now, I have no game at all. :'( Help!

Heya everyone, i recently purchased Oblivion to replace my retail version of Oblivion. Everything works but i can't get OBSE to work with the steam version, however it works flawless with the retail version. I use Mod Organizer, the latest version of OBSE and already tried a few things but to no avail. Can someone help me with this?

I have no idea why it's happening. Either it's the new steam update that happened a few days ago or my game is just messed up. So I tried reinstalling SKSE and then MO2 automatically finds it. I try to run it, then it says to press okay when I'm logged in to steam (which I already am when I run it). I click okay and instead of running SKSE it opens the launcher. Any fix?

Just bought a new gaming PC and this was my first go-to game to play! So I learned how to install mods via nexus mod manager and I've reinstalled the games a couple of times and NMM etc etc. After doing this a few times I've realised none of the mods are actually uninstalling which is really confusing me as I've deleted all game files for Oblivion, and I've actually searched Oblivion on my hard disk drive and removed everything with that name involved. Heard it could be something to do with Steam icloud or something. Could someone offer me some help? I want to play this game vanilla and it's annoying me as I thought I could have just removed the mods. I suppose I could have just disabled them but it's too late now lol. Thanks in advance!

I reverted my Fallout4.exe back to 1.10.89 after the new update so I could still play Fallout 4 before the new F4SE was out. But now the new F4SE is out I want to update to the 1.10.98 Fallout4.exe, but whenever I launch steam or Fallout 4 through Steam it doesn't download the update, anyone know how I can get the 1.10.98 Fallout4.exe?

I recently read an article about someone who spent 1,800 hours playing âThe Witcherâ. I checked my stats on Steam and was surprised to find I had spent over 3,300 hours roaming the wasteland. I know that I am not so unusual so I want to know, how much time have you spent playing Fallout 4?

I'm nearing 3000... just wondering if I wasn't the only one. This is time accumulated with multiple installs, mulitple characters and playthroughs, mod setups, etc. Though I couldn't tell you how many of these hours were spent actually 'playing' the game lol :D

So I've used Vortex previously, and have gotten it to run 80+ mods for Fallout 4 no problem, but I can't seem to get it to work for Oblivion. I've set it to manage Oblivion, and set the staging folder and deployment method: The mods also seem to download and install properly, but when I click to launch Oblivion via Vortex I get:

After realizing my backup failed I had to do an "integrity check" on steam for Stardew Valley. I also re-installed smapi, and all downloaded mods show up in the promp screen. But when I load the game none of the mods show up at all. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong? Redownloading some of the mods isn't working either.
