SubClass Overview
This subclass is as true as I could make from the College of spirits mod from "Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft". You have the ability to access this class from Bard level 3 and selecting the "College of Spirits" subclass.

Guiding Whispers
At level 3, you are granted the "Guiding Whispers" cantrip. This cantrip works the same as "Guidance" but with increased range (60ft).

Tales From Beyond
At 3rd level, you reach out to spirits who tell their tales through you. Using a bardic inspiration die and bonus action, roll your bardic inspiration die and receive a tale to retain in your mind. You can only retain one tale at a time. All tales are removed after a short or long rest.

Since the tale you receive is based on the roll of your bardic inspiration die, you will receive more tales as your bardic inspiration die grows (up to 1d10.

Unlocked at level 3:
  • Tale of the Clever Animal - For the next 10 minutes, whenever the target makes an Intelligence, a Wisdom, or a Charisma check, the target can roll an extra die immediately after rolling the d20 and add the extra die's number to the check. The extra die is the same type as your Bardic Inspiration die.
  • Tale of the Renowned Duelist - You make a melee spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes force damage equal to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier.
  • Tale of the Beloved Friends - Up to two allies (can be yourself) gain temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma Modifier. This Tale is removed after a short or long rest. Range of 30ft.
  • Tale of the Runaway - Grant an ally or yourself with the ability to use their reaction to teleport up to 30ft to unoccupied space. The amount of allies you can grant this Tale to is according to your proficiency bonus. Lasts for one turn
  • Tale of the Avenger - For 1 minute, any creature that hits the target with a melee attack takes force damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die.
  • Tale of the Traveler - The target gains temporary hit points equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die + your bard level. While it has these temporary hit points, the targets walking speed increases by 10 feet and it gains a +1 bonus to its AC.
Unlocked at level 6:
  • Tale of the Beguiler - The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take psychic damage equal to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die, and the target is incapacitated until the end of its next turn.
  • Tale of the Phantom - The target becomes invisible until the end of its next turn or until it hits a creature with an attack. If it hits a creature with an attack during this invisibility, the creature it hits takes necrotic damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die and is frightened of the target until the end of the frightened creature's next turn.
Unlocked at level 10:
  • Tale of the Brute - Up to 8 creatures of the targets choice it can see within 30 feet of it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes thunder damage equal to three rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die and is knocked prone. A creature that succeeds on its saving throw takes half as much damage and isn't knocked prone.
  • Tale of the Dragon - The target spews fire from the mouth in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking fire damage equal to four rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This Tale is removed after a short or long rest.

Spirit Session
At level 6, you can unlock one spell from the school of Divination or Necromancy while not in combat. The level of the spell is determined by your proficiency bonus. Lasts until long rest.

Proficiency 3 spells:
  • Divination: Speak with Animals, See Invisibility, Detect Thoughts, Hunters Mark
  • Necromancy: Animate Dead, Bestow Curse, False Life, Blindness, Inflict Wounds, Ray of Enfeeblement, Feign Death, Revivify, Speak with Dead, Vampiric Touch, Blight
Proficiency 4 spells:
  • All of the previous spirit session spells
  • Necromancy: Blight
  • Yes there is only one level 4 spell in Divination and Necromancy lol

Spiritual Focus
At level 6, whenever you cast a spell that deals damage or restores hit points, add 1d6 to the damage or restoration amount. This also applies to cantrips.

Notable Changes/Bugs
There are some notable changes that I made so this mod could work in BG3.
  • When using the "Recite a Tale" action, it will select a random tale and inform the player they have activated a wild magic surge. This is only a visual bug and does not actually cause a wild surge to appear. Reason why this happens is I use the wild magic random table function to choose a random tale. There isn't a known way to remove that popup.
  • Tale of the Brute targets 8 instead of as many as the player wanted. Reasoning for this is there is no way I can have unlimited targets while also letting the player choose their targets. If 8 is too little, I can up this number in a future version
  • Tale of the Runaway instead gives the player the ability to gift a teleport to allies (or yourself) 30ft away on their turn with their reaction. Think of it as gifting misty step to whoever you choose.
  • Tale of the Beloved Friends can only target two allies (or yourself) within 30ft of the College of Spirits Bard.
