Adds the revised version of MCDM's Illrigger class to your Baldur's Gate 3 game! Become a knight of the Nine Hells, censuring your foes with infernal magicks and commanding your allies with the presence of an archdevil. Fully functional up to Level 12 and with three (3) subclasses from which to choose!

Main Class Features:
  • Baleful Interdict (Level 1)- Status effect applied by bonus action or after hitting a creature with a weapon attack. Uses class-specific resource called "Baleful Seals". You can burn the seal on a creature after you or an ally damage it, causing your choice of fire or necrotic damage. Damage starts at 1d6; increases to 2d6 at Level 5; 3d6 at Level 11.
    • **Mod designer's note- Normally, an illrigger is supposed to be able to apply seals to multiple targets at a time and/or apply more than one seal to the same target. This proved tricky for a noob modder like myself, so, for the time being, an illrigger is capable of applying only one seal at a time. Additionally, multiple illriggers can trigger each other's seals under certain circumstances. I'm working on finding a way to ensure each illrigger's seals are unique to them and to allow for the assignment of more than one seal at a time. Please look forward to it!
  • Interdict Boons (Levels 2, 7, and 12)- Several options to enhance and customize your illrigger. Might improve/alter the effect of your Baleful Interdict or give you unique actions. Some actions will cost a Baleful Seal(s). Similar to warlock's "Eldritch Invocations". One option chosen at Level 2; additional boon chosen at Level 7 and Level 12.
  • Invoke the Hells (Level 3)- Specific to your chosen subclass (also unlocked at Level 3). Grants two new abilities fueled by new class-specific resource "Invoke the Hells" charge. Similar to paladin's "Channel Oath" charge and abilities.
  • Infernal Conduit (Level 6)- Similar to paladin's "Lay On Hands". Uses "Infernal Conduit" charges to either damage the illrigger and heal an ally for the same amount, or damage an enemy (CON save to halve the damage) and heal the illrigger for the amount of damage done.
  • Blood Price (Level 10)- Unlocks a pool of five (5) d10 to boost a saving throw. If you fail a saving throw, you can expend one Blood Price die, take necrotic damage equal to 1d10, then boost the saving throw by 1d10, possibly turning failure into success.
  • Terrorizing Force (Level 11)- Per short/long rest, can imbue your weapon attacks with Cold, Fire, Necrotic, or Poison damage. Weapon attacks deal 1d8 extra of the chosen type.

Three subclasses are:
  • Architect of Ruin- a one-third caster subclass that augments their spells with their Baleful Seals and relies on a mixture of martial combat and magical mastery
  • Painkiller- a heavily-armored martial battler with additional abilities to control the battlefield and boost the capabilities of their allies
  • Shadowmaster- a deceptive striker who can utilize their myriad abilities to gain advantage on their strikes and deal additional damage, always keeping their targets within reach until they strike the killing blow

This is 100% a fan creation done by someone who liked the Illrigger and wanted to learn how to mod BG3. I do not have or claim any ownership over the Illrigger class, its creation, its related content, etc...

Looking to the future! Some goals:
  • Adding images and fixing up this description to allow for a deeper dive into the illrigger's features as well as clarifying any design changes I've implemented and why
  • Allowing an illrigger to apply more than one Baleful Seal at a time
  • Allowing Baleful Interdict to stack on a single creature
  • Ensuring an illrigger's seals can only be activated by that illrigger
  • Updating/improving action animations; a lot of them are base animations lifted from other actions without too much alteration, so I'm hoping to make them more unique and thematic
  • Adding the Hellspeaker and Sanguine Knight subclasses
