NOTE:
DUE TO SOME ISSUES BARGING INTO MY PERSONAL LIFE, I AM UNABLE TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE MODS TO MAKE SURE THEY STAY WORKING IN NEWER UPDATES OF THE GAME, USE WITH CAUTION, BUG REPORTS DISABLED UNTIL I CAN ACTUALLY UPDATE THE MODS AGAIN

HOW TO INSTALL:

use a mod manager, manual is very tricky and requires annoying ini edits every single time you install or uninstall a mod

THE RINGS:
- The rings can be sold by the halfling in the grove, upon equipping it grants the Ceremorphosis abilities for all the Mind Flayer variants
- The rings can also be found in the tutorial chest somewhere near shadowheart on the Nautiloid, or summoned with this mod: (https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/457)
- You are not required to keep the rings equipped, but its safe to keep it on hand if you want to swap mind flayer appearances

A STAFF:
- a mind flayer staff can be found in the same places as the ring, this has the same stats as your average quarterstaff but looks cool

ABILITIES:
- As a mind flayer you will gain the unique abilities of Mind Blast, Tentacle Whip, levitating like a badass, and munching on some soft brains, along with your regular class abilities.
- You will gain a conjuration spell to summon everyone's favorite intellect devourer, Us
- In your passives you'll find two toggles, one unlocks extra overpowered mind flayer abilities, the other unlocks a certain ability required for one of the endings as the method to obtain it normally is overlapped by this mod
- The mind flayer is able to use the following melee weapons with custom animations: Staves. 1h-weapons like axe, sword, or salami (no dual-wield).
- Enjoy increased health as a Mind Flayer
- SOME voice-lines will have the echoey mind flayer voice effect
- SOME npcs will recognize you as a mind flayer (the only confirmed one so far is the mind flayer at the nautiloid helm)

- If there's any mind flayer forms i missed, drop the IDs in the comments and i'll be sure to add them

WARNINGS:
- The transformation is PERMANENT, save before you change because you will not have the option to change back although you will have the option to change between different forms.
- Might cause problems with some animations and abilities, but MOST things should work fine.
- Can be used on an existing save BUT only if the halfling in the grove is alive OR you have the tutorial chest summoning mod
- As more forms keep getting added, so do ceremorphosis spells that take up your spell hotbar, as such i HIGHLY recommend you use the game's lock hotbar feature to remove them from your hotbar and either use your spellbook or place them in the custom hotbar
- Make sure you have the ability to disguise self if you want to lockpick, as mind flayers normally are quite clumsy and unable to lockpick due to only having 4 fingers, but a disguise is a work-around for it

SPOILER WARNING:
- If you are a Mind Flayer with this mod and pick a certain option for endings, remember to use one of the two passives provided to unlock a required ability

NOTES:
- some forms don't have an icon because they were never meant to show up with one

STUPID QUESTIONS:
due to the increasing amount of questions that have been asked a million times already, i strongly recommend you read the comments and bugs section before you make your comment if it is to make a suggestion or report a bug (even though there's a bug report section right next to the comments people still insist to do it in the comments).

3 in particular have been asked and answered more than i'd like to answer:
- "can you make it so mind flayer mod doesnt turn me into a mind flayer" why would you ask that on a mod where the single purpose is to turn into a mind flayer, base-game lets you have the powers without turning into one, if you want them sooner just use cheat engine to unlock the powers or give yourself more tadpoles
- "mind flayers cant lockpick oh no!" yes i am aware, i was aware the first time it got said, i was still aware the 8th time it got said. this issue is not easily fixable, only ways to work around it either bring a human character, or bring disguise self
- "Can you make mind flayer wear normal armor" no.

the more i have to answer the same repetitive questions, it'll be harder for me to stay formal when answering them, and might even make me end up locking the comment section entirely.

KIND REMINDER:
Due to some parts of the mod having been stolen without permission recently and distributed to someone else's mod, i would like to give a kind reminder that if you wish to use anything, ask before you do or keep it for personal use only. there do not need to be 2 mods that add a transformation ability for the same creature, only exception to this is fantastical minds as although outdated, that mode came first and its a race instead of a transformation. ASK BEFORE YOU DISTRIBUTE, ACTION WILL BE TAKEN OTHERWISE
