This mod offers bug fixes, tweaks, and enhancements for HajyMurat's excellent Dust Pit Revised, keeping to the spirit of an immersive rework for the Dust Pit Arena.

"Dust Pit is a dangerous place. Most of the fighters don't even make it to the arena because they break their necks in the dark while searching for entrance."

HajyMurat's excellent Dust Pit Revised is a staple in many load orders, and does a wonderful job at reimagining the original Dust Pit Arena. Although their mod is mostly bug-free, when attempting to troubleshoot a couple of issues, I patched up a couple of bugs, made some tweaks here and there, redid the lighting for my setup... and here we are! Given the open permissions on the original mod and the fairly robust number of changes I made, I thought I'd share my ... revised... edition here.

Description of changes in the original mod, then my changes:

Original mod* (included in this mod):
  • Completely new arena, with new flat terrain and fencing to prevent cheesing/pathing issues
  • Improved lighting, with additional bulbs and object placements
  • Dust particles in the new fighting area
  • Several new spectators and a new bouncer/guard
  • Decluttered fighting pit and living quarters
* Note that this is HajyMurat's description of their mod but with elaboration from me for more detailed explanation of what this mod does.

This mod:
Bug fixes--
  • Fixed bug with the arena boss not spawning in the correct place, which was interrupting or breaking a cutscene.
  • Fixed bug with an arena boss cutscene NPC pathing incorrectly, which was interrupting or breaking a cutscene.
  • Fixed bug with arena fighters stopping/breaking on the edges of the new fighting area.
  • Fixed bug with fighting NPCs getting stuck on a hanging strut/rope object.
  • Fixed bug with an NPC's pathing that would delay or prevent a post-fight scene with Rasha.
  • Fixed black face bug with new spectator NPCs.
  • Fixed issue with deleted navmeshes; undeleted and removed them safely.
  • Tweaked/fixed navmesh for better pathfinding around objects.
  • Adjusted clutter and markers to fix clipping, floating, etc.

Tweaks & enhancements--
  • Added collision planes in front of the new balconies/spectator areas so they don't get hit/aggroed.
  • Adjusted cell lighting and bulb placement to reduce flickering and play better for ENB setups.
  • Adjusted exit door hallway statics/fx/bulbs to better match the exterior.
  • Added many more fx objects, including smoke, dust, cobwebs, and falling dust triggers.
  • Enhanced sound by adding cell acoustic space, adding suitable acoustic boxes to particular areas, and sound markers.
  • Tweaked placement of NPC markers to make them more visible and the space more lively.
  • Tweaked and added clutter to add visual interest while suiting the poverty level of the area. 
  • Restored and added more of the Undercity stalagmites that were on the ceiling.

Compatibility:
  • Dust Pit Revised - Incompatible (this mod is an updated version)
  • Undercity Relit - Compatible with patch (provided in optional files)
  • NPC mods - Compatible (this mod does not touch any vanilla NPC)

Installation:
  • I recommend loading this fairly late in your load order due to the lighting and navmesh changes

Future Updates/To Do List:

  • (If requested) Create a version with the bug fixes only(?)
  • (If requested) Offer a version with different lighting to suit other setups(?)
  • Tweak clutter/clipping as I playtest further
