Go to your L4D2 local files in your Steam library, then extract the contents directly into that path. If done correctly, you will have been prompted that you will be replacing files with the same names. This is correct. I would suggest backing up the 'bik.' files inside 'left4dead2' > 'media' before installing in case you wish to revert to the vanilla background menu clips.
