Thank you for your interest in my very first (published) mod. Also, numerous humble thanks go to Nexus users Rasikko and OldMansBeard for helping me out with a couple incredibly frustrating problems I had with the Creation Kit. If not for them, I would not have been able to complete even this very basic and simple mod.

Please read all of the description below before asking me any questions. Sorry, there is no tl;dr version.

OVERVIEW

It is well known that the Skyforge Steel weapon set has a large gap. Most vanilla-Skyrim weapon sets have nine weapons, but the Skyforge Steel set has only five. All the other mods I've found that try to fill that gap do so with a lot of (in my opinion) unnecessary bells and whistles. They have flashy new textures, or also add a lot of other new weapons and armors, or do something even more ambitious like a massive overhaul of the Companions quest-line, etc.

This mod has none of that fluff. All it does is add four new Skyforge Steel weapons: Mace, Warhammer, Bow, and Arrow, with the same stats and traits as the rest of the set. They have the attack damage of Elven weapons and the carry weight of normal Steel weapons. You can't craft them, but you can temper them at any grind stone. And finally, they look the same as their normal Steel counterparts. The exception is the Bow which, in a deliberate nod to irony (since Eorlund Gray-Mane is a Stormcloak supporter), looks like the Imperial Bow.

When you reach the point in the Companions quest-line where Eorlund Gray-Mane offers you a free weapon, you can now choose these from the list. They can also be purchased from Eorlund's store thereafter.

The only other change this mod makes is to remove Aela the Huntress' crappy Hunter's Bow and Iron(?!) Arrows from her inventory in exchange for a Skyforge Steel Bow and Arrows.

And that's it. So if you just want to fill the Skyforge Steel gap without any additional frills, this is the mod for you.

To throw a bone to folks who might want a few frills, I've made two additional versions of this mod that increase the Skyforge Steel set's attack power. In the default version, they have the attack power of Elven weapons. The other two versions increase the attack power to that of Glass weapons and Ebony weapons. I've included a simple FOMOD installer to let you choose which of the three versions you want.

REQUIREMENTS

The
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (USSEP) is required. You do *NOT* need any other mods, including SKSE.

INSTALLATION

Make sure you have USSEP installed and that it comes first in your load order.

Mod Manager: Just download the file with your mod manager and run through the very short and simple FOMOD installer.
Make sure your mod manager puts USSEP above my mod in your load order.

Manual: Download the archive and open it. Drag-and-drop the data file of the version you want into your Skyrim Special Edition directory. Use the Skyrim SE Launcher to make sure USSEP is above my mod in the load order.

You should not need to start a new game when you install this. Even if you have already started or finished the Companions quest-line, this mod should integrate seamlessly. I strongly recommend, however, that you check whether you have any incompatible mods already installed. Be sure to read the COMPATIBILITY section below.

UNINSTALLATION

Remove any of the new Skyforge Steel weapons from your inventory and, just to be absolutely sure, from the cell in which your character is standing. Then save and quit, and remove the ESP and BSA from your Skyrim Special Edition data directory, either manually or with your mod manager. Be advised that this mod does make a small change to the leveled list that determines Eorlund Gray-Mane's store inventory. So I can not guarantee that you can make a completely clean uninstall of this mod.

COMPATIBILITY

My mod *WILL NOT WORK RIGHT* if you don't have USSEP installed and above it in your load order. Make sure you have it.

There is a known conflict with the Special Edition Followers mod, because both mods edit Aela the Huntress. I've created a compatibility patch and included it as an optional install in the FOMOD installer. Only use the patch if you have *BOTH* Complete Skyforge Weapon Set and Special Edition Followers installed, and make sure the patch comes after both mods in your load order.

This
mod will almost definitely conflict with any other mod that changes the Skyforge Steel weapon set. If you decide to have both my mod and one or more of those mods installed at the same time, then decide which should have higher priority over the others and use your mod manager and/or LOOT to adjust your load order.

There is a fair chance that this mod could conflict with Companions quest-line overhaul mods, because I had to make some minor edits to the scripts that control Eorlund's offer of a free weapon. Any Companions mod that edits those same scripts could break this mod, or be broken by it.

Any mod that does nothing to either the Skyforge Steel Weapons or the Companions faction should be fully compatible with this mod.

If you're unsure of potential compatibility issues, feel free to ask me. I'll do my best to look into it.
