This mod's purpose is to equip the Housecarls of Skyrim with something worth their status. Many of the Housecarls in the game come equipped with some very basic armor, weapons, and abilities. Irileth is a striking example of this. Her Jarl is the ruler of the richest hold in Skyrim, and she is equipped with some run-of-the-mill leather armor? That's just insane. This mod came up from the annoyance of seeing Irileth with that leather armor, but it has expanded to incorporate the rest of the housecarls as well as the rest of their armory.

This mod changes the armor, weapons, and perks of the Jarl's Housecarls to give them a more intimidating look and to increase immersion. It also allows the housecarls to defend their Jarl if need be. The armor, weapon, and perk changes to each Housecarl are as follows;

The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch is a hard requirement for the ESP-FE version of this mod.
Spell Perk Item Distributor(SPID) is a hard requirement for the SPID version of this mod.
This mod has TWO versions you can choose to use, both are provided as Main Files
- Appropriately Attired Housecarls - ESP-FE Version
This version is made with a plugin, REPLACING Housecarls Outfits, Weapons, and Perks. Follow the below instructions to download and install.
1) Click the "Download with Manager" button for both the main file, and any patches you wish to use. If using AI Overhaul AND Pandorable's NPCs, use the merged patch rather than the individual patches. You can use the EulogyNPC patch with either configuration.
2) Activate the mod in the mods tab/section, and be sure to place Appropriately Attired Housecarls and it's patches below patched NPC overhaul mods and AI Overhaul.
- Appropriately Attired Housecarls - SPID Version
This version utilizes Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) to ADD Weapons and Perks, and REPLACE Outfits. To install this version, simply download and install with your mod manager after having installed SPID and it's requirements.
This version of the mod does NOT replace the Weapons or perks it is adding, as such Housecarls will have an extra weapon on them that they will not use, and perks that will not apply to their armor set. This is mostly benign, but is worth mentioning. If you prefer to not worry about patching this mod, use this version!
Mods that drastically change perks and their effects will carry over their changes, and may have unexpected results (this affects the SPID version as well).
I have created patches for the following mods, which you can find as an optional file. To clarify, these patches are for the ESP-FE version of the mod. Your game will crash if you attempt to use the patches with the SPID version of this mod.
- AI Overhaul
- Pandorable's NPCs
- EulogyNPCs
I created these patches because I use these mods in my load order.
Open your load order with xEdit and confirm for yourself, every load order is different.
