About this mod

This mod adds novice versions of projectile spells and Mysticism's touch spells to make low level gameplay more fun for destruction mages. Also adds one novice and apprentice vampiric spell, as well as making Sybille Stentor a source of non faction related vampiric magic.

Version 2.0: Looking at how the spells progress using Mysticism I realized that every level of spell it costs more magicka per point of damage. For example Burning Touch costs 1.6 magicka per point of damage while the adept Flame Touch costs 2.5 magicka per point of damage. This means weaker spells are more efficient to cast making you choose between a few high damage spells or many low damage ones depending on the situation. I think it's a great way to scale destruction and my mod didn't follow that so I readjusted the magicka costs to make them more efficient to cast than their apprentice counterparts. I also added novice elemental runes.

Alternate Perspective version adds the 10 novice spells to the end table in Alternate Perspective - Alternate start reborn's starting room that allows you to pick starting spells. This version is the full mod just for Alternate Perspective. Pick either that version or the Mysticism only version. 


I love Mysticism but find the early gameplay for destruction mages doesn't offer much of a difference from vanilla. The Mod adds awesome touch spells and health draining spells to destruction but the health draining spells aren't available until you've leveled your destruction considerably and the touch spells, while only being apprentice level, cost too much magicka to get to use them much at early levels. I find that the majority of my early destruction mage gameplay still just revolves around Flames, Frostbite, and Sparks just like vanilla. I decided to change that.

This mod adds 11 spells, 10 novice and 1 apprentice, to expand playstyle choice and usefulness of low level destruction with Mysticism. There are 3 novice touch spells, 3 novice rune spells, and 3 novice projectile spells. Also there is 1 Novice concentration health draining spell, and one apprentice projectile health draining spell. The spells are:

Flare: 10 fire damage and costs 17 magicka
Icicle: 10 frost damage and 15 magicka
Static: 10 shock damage and 19 magicka

Heated Touch: 15 fire damage 20 magicka
Cold Touch: 15 frost damage 18 magicka
Electrifying touch: 15 Shock damage 22 magicka

Lesser Fire Rune: 20 fire damage 55 magicka
Lesser Frost Rune: 20 frost damage 50 magicka
Lesser Lightning Rune: 20 shock damage 60 magicka

Steal life: absorbs 8 health per second and costs 22 magicka per second

Entropic Bolt: Absorbs 20 health and costs 68 magicka

Steal Life and Entropic Bolt will be sold from Enthir, Feran Sadhri, and Festus Krex just like in Mysticism as well as Sybille Stentor. The elemental spells can be purchased from court wizards and Faralda.

The only thing I changed about Mysticism is making Sybille Stentor, vampire court wizard of Solitude, sell all destruction and conjuration vampire spells. She is a very old and powerful vampire so it makes sense that she should be a vendor of vampiric spells that you don't have to join a faction to buy from.
