When I first stumbled upon the Hall of the Vigilant, I was pretty excited to maybe join their faction, dress like one of the Vigilants and do some quests etc., but unfortunately vanilla Skyrim does not offer any of that. Adding the Vigilants as a faction the way I imagined is way out of my league however, so I opted for another approach.

I added a fully voiced Vigil Quartermaster with manually created levelled lists to the cellar of the Hall of the Vigilant. The Quartermaster sells everything a member of the Vigil would need and wear, ranging from gear to spells to potions, and stands at a fully navmeshed counter with various items on top.

Some weapon racks on the wall were also equipped with Warhammers.

I also changed the Fortify Block enchant text and removed the mention of a shield, since a shield was not required for this enchantment to work.

  • Vanilla: Block 10% more damage with your shield.
  • My Mod: Block 10% more damage.

Lastly, the door to the cellar is now open per default.

All of this will vanish once the Hall of the Vigilant is destroyed.

Download and extract the .zip file and simply drop the contents into your Data folder.

Or install with your mod manager of choice.

Should be fully compatible with any mods that don't edit the Hall of the Vigilant before its destruction. Otherwise, if you have other mods that edit this location, you would probably need to create a patch.

If you do, I'll happily add it to the optional files section if you provide it.

I'm inexperienced with modding, so I can't tell you much about load orders etc., but in my testing I loaded this after Well Armored Vigilants for my Quartermaster to also wear the Plated Robes and also sell them instead of the Novice Robes and I didn't have any problems.

DO NOT CLEAN THIS FILE. Otherwise the Quartermaster will not stay at his designated spot and another Vigilant may take his place and lean on the counter. If you find a way to clean it without messing up my Quartermaster's position, then please let me know and I'll update the mod. 


I found a way to bind the Quartermaster to his post. Thanks to CharderoTheLupe for your insight! I also cleaned the file via SSEdit QAC.
