I'm aiming for a more realistic/hardcore feel where one wrong move and you are dead. You will need to use cover, flanking, etc. I want more believable stamina costs, and most importantly to make exploration more fun. Your feedback & testing will help me fine-tune the settings to match said vision. Of course, you are still missing out on my intended vision without the collection I am curating but this is a great start for everything it contains!
NOTE: It should work on all difficulties as the values are the same regardless though I recommend the hardest as there is better enemy & loot spawns. This was an intentional design. You are welcome to change the values if you desire. This is also meant for users of my collection (Starfield: Unity) but I figured I would share it with others as well :)
The Damage Values:
Vanilla:
 - Very Easy:  2x damage dealt, 0.25x damage taken
 - Easy:  1.5x damage dealt, 0.5x damage taken
 - Normal:  1x damage dealt, 1x damage taken
 - Hard:  0.75x damage dealt, 1.5x damage taken
 - Very Hard:  0.5x damage dealt, 2x damage taken

For the rest of the changes please read the ever growing file!

How to install:
Place contents of the "Starfield" folder into your game directory ex. steamapps\common\Starfield

Place StarfieldCustom.ini into Documents/My Games/Starfield OR add it to your existing StarfieldCustom.ini by adding ;bat BrutalDamage;

Load your save, then use this command to adjust the damage you take in space combat:
player.forceav PlayerIncomingShipDamageMult 1.50
Where 1.50 is the damage multiplier. The default value is 0.65.

The following values will restore the vanilla ship damage for each difficulty (CHOOSE ONE):
HARD:

player.setav PlayerIncomingShipDamageMult 0.325
VERY HARD:
player.setav PlayerIncomingShipDamageMult 0.26

This only needs to be run once, as it is part of the saved game, the same way your current HP value is. (This cannot be done automatically via the mod's ini changes, as we need to wait for a save to be loaded, which the ini does not allow us to do).
Limitations/Issues:
This mod changes the values for every single weapon including ships. Please provide feedback so I can continue improving!
Uninstallation:
Remove the BrutalCombat.txt from your Starfield directory ex. steamapps\common\Starfield

Remove the following from your StarfieldCustom.ini from Documents/My Games/Starfield

```
[General]
bat BrutalStarfield
```

3. After that you will need to enter this command in the console to reset your ship damage

player.forceav PlayerIncomingShipDamageMult 1.50
Extra Game Info About Encounter Zones:
In Bethesda's open-world RPGs, encounter zones are used to determine the level of difficulty for the enemies and challenges in various regions of the game world. The minimum and maximum level settings for these zones help ensure that the game remains balanced and challenging as your character progresses. Here's how they might work:

  • Minimum Level: The minimum level setting for an encounter zone determines the lowest level at which enemies and challenges in that area will spawn. For example, if an encounter zone has a minimum level of 10, it means that the enemies and challenges in that area will start to appear for characters who have reached level 10 or higher. Players at lower levels won't encounter these challenges until they reach the specified minimum level.

  • Maximum Level: The maximum level setting for an encounter zone determines the highest level at which enemies and challenges in that area will scale. If an encounter zone has a maximum level of 30, it means that the enemies and challenges in that area will scale to a maximum level of 30. This ensures that even high-level players continue to face appropriate challenges when they revisit lower-level areas.

These settings allow for dynamic gameplay, as the game world adjusts to your character's level. It prevents low-level areas from becoming too easy or high-level areas from being too difficult. However, the specific implementation may vary from game to game.

Once you've visited a system it locks at that level of "encounter zone" you initially visited it at, so if this mod doesn't seem to be doing "anything" for you (As in you are dealing too much and they are dealing too little) its because your visiting planets you've already been to and the level of the encounter zone isn't changed. It requires you to go to undiscovered planets to start raising the maximum level of the encounter zones. The minimum is still a large range so you can encounter really low level enemies at really high level places.

In conclusion, this mod increases damage taken / and dealt for every weapon in the game. A low level weapon will have a vastly different min/max damage output than a higher level weapon. So while this mod does increase the damage overhaul, you will still need to discover new encounters zones to find find stronger weapons & enemies. This is the core of the new game plus and exploration IMO.

This was formed from multiple command lines & prompts personally tweaked to my liking which will continue to evolve from here on out. Most command lines & prompts were taken from others INI files for example but not limited to; Improved Combat AI , Stealth Overhaul , Immersive Damage , Ultimate Starfield Configuration, and a lot more! I'm being transparent here. I 100% either asked to use or took the command prompts so that I could make something completely unique to my own tastes. All of these settings will continue to change to reach my ideal "Starfield Vision". Brutal, Methodical, Beautiful.
