About this mod

Slows the AK's in game cyclic rate down to 600rpm so that it shoots like an AK irl. Requires Plugins.txt Enabler

Disclaimer: I have not shot an AK irl and I'm no firearms expert. The 600rpm figure comes from Googling. If it's wrong please let me know.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Slows down the Old Earth Assault Rifle (AKM / AK47)'s rate of fire from 900 rpm to 600 rpm in line with actual AK's cyclic rate irl. Requires Plugin.txt Enabler! Two options available:

Option A: Slows down the cyclic rate to 600rpm and changes nothing else.

Option B: Slows down the cyclic rate to 600rpm, and buffs damage per shot by slightly less than 50% so that it keeps roughly the same dps. Also increased muzzle rise per shot by slightly less than 50% for balance's sake, so that you still have a reason to choose the Laredo Tombstone rifle over this. Don't worry it's still controllable. If you just want slower rate of fire and higher damage per shot without increased muzzle rise, use this mod instead.

Made with SF1Edit. All credit goes to ElminsterAU and the rest of the team behind the modding tool.

Many thanks to fellow modders in the comments section for explaining how to alter weapon recoil patterns.

Installation:
Step 1: Choose either Option A or Option B from the Files section. Do not install both!
Step 2: Download and Install the file of your choice using Vortex.
If installing manually, drop the .esm file inside the Data folder where you installed the game, like this: \Steam\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data\
Step 3: Install Plugins.txt Enabler if you haven't done so already.
Note that you'll need SFSE if running the Steam version of the game, or the ASI Loader if running the Gamepass version.
Step 4: Go to C:\Users\(your pc user name)\AppData\Local\Starfield\, find Plugin.txt, open it and type a # symbol into the file if it doesn't have one in there already, then press Enter on your keyboard to go to the next line. If you already have Plugins.txt installed and working correctly, skip to Step 5.
Step 5: Add the following line to your Plugins.txt depending on which file option you chose:
*SlowerAKMRoF.esm if using Option A
*SlowerAKMRofBuffedDamageRecoil.esm if using Option B
Note: Do not omit the * symbol at the start of the line, else it won't work.

Known issues:
sTestFile1-10 and StarfieldCustom.ini
If you're using mods that are loaded via StarfieldCustom.ini involving the use of variables sTestFile1-10, all the mods that are designed to load via Plugin.txt (including this mod) will be ignored by the game. You'll need to clean up those sTestFile lines inside StarfieldCustom.ini and reconfigure those mods to load via Plugin.txt instead. Refer to the respective mod pages or contact mod authors for instructions.

.esp vs .esm
Related to the previous point, it has come to my attention that many older mods that are loaded via StarfieldCustom.ini are of the .esp format rather than the .esm format. Please note that according to the dev team behind SF1Edit, Starfield's game engine wasn't really designed to support .esp files unlike earlier Bethesda titles. It's believed that the use of .esp mods in Starfield could corrupt your save files down the track, so it's highly recommended that you contact the mod authors to see if they can remake their mods in .esm format instead.
