The history of Posers Incorporated is a fascinating one.
It all started with geniursscientist slash engineer slash inventor Edelburt Hisbiktis.
And his discovery of a new engine tech that in the lab was very close to the best engine tech out there!
Investors were found. A company was created. Development started.
And a huge problem was discovered. Bloody tech just wouldn't scale with higher power input.
Well..unless you count blowing up counting as scaling.
Sometimes just a little poof. Sometimes a massive explosion.
So not even any consistency to make it applicable as a new type of weapon.
More money was poured into it.
More eggheads hired.
People got desperate.
More pressure applied.
More risks taken.
All culminating in the quite spectacular and now infamous explosion on and of Alchiba X-c.
The resulting investigations, lawsuits and trials made the headlines for years. The company got dissolved.
And that was the end of Edelburts once so promising new engine tech.
Or so everybody thought. Except brilliant Entrepreneur SpecimenZ.
He bought the tech for an atom on the gold bar.
Gave the company a new edgy name "Posers Incorporated"
Started producing engines at the safe 1 input power level.
Packed them into different casings that were exact copies of existing engines by other manufactures. Quite illegally.
Started selling them under the counter at more law-flexible places like the Den, red mile and Key
SpecimenZ had the finger on the pulse of the Zeitgeist as usual.
Was it the name? Affiliation with the mythic SpecimenZ? Or simply the increased granularity when spending those precious
power pips? Probably a bit of all.
Sales went through the roof.
Other manufacturers threw fits.
Lawsuits launched. And failed. Seeing nobody ever found out who SpecimenZ actually is. Or where the damn engines were produced.
Sales increased even more.
Other manufacturers became desperate enough to give Posers Incorporated the rights to copy their looks. In exchange for a part of the sales.
Making Posers Incorporated engines buyable everywhere
After a couple of very good business as usual years. Rumors (most certainly strategically placed) started floting around.
One Pip weapons are in development.
Did Posers Incorporated develop similar weapon tech that only works well at low power inputs?
Did they track down long burried weapon tech from times when everybody thought nobody would want one-pip versions?
Did they get contacted by holders of such tech?
