No Vendor Resources
What this?

A mod to remove resources from vendor lists entirely for whatever sake you choose. Immersion, realism, difficulty, you name it.

But why?

The major reason for me is, to give purpose to the industrial workbench, purpose to gather resources from living entities, and purpose to resource collectors, or bio-labs build in outposts. There are probably other ways to obtain resources I simply have overlooked.

I get why Bethesda implemented this for players that don't feel grinding is a fun thing to do. But ask yourself, in the real world, can you just willy nilly go to any "market place", and buy random organic and inorganic resources that are strictly regulated by whoever is in charge, or has rights on their resource propertie?

No, you can't, because most of that stuff is actually quite difficult to obtain, and/or produce. I deem that's true as well for a spacefaring society, even if they have access to never ending streams of resources found on all the various planets.

The regular way is some companies specialize on gathering resources, and usually sell them to other companies specializing on building various specialized components, which then are sold to companies that use those components to build cars, building, machines whatever, you name it.

Usually all that stuff is not made available to private persons, and even if so only in very tiny amounts, so you can not easily build, let's say, a spaceship all on your own.

How's it done?

Finding the "last child instance" of leveled list merging all the resources for distribution to vendor containers, and set the "no find chance" to 100%.

Some of those guys still sell resources?

That's true. During testing I figured some Trade Authoritie vendors still had resources in their inventory, even though very much limited in comparison to vanilla, and 2-3 other vendors in Neon had access to Chambass Oil etc. But rather than tracing the lists responsible for the stock up, I kept this in place, because 1. the Trade Authoritie has all sorts of access to all sorts of shady stuff they shouldn't have access to, and 2. Neon is a place where everything's possible.

Where did you get that fancy font seen in your screenshot from?

That's super secret. It's handmade, so not easily available for anyone.

How to install?

Done with currently experimental xEdit, so mind the risk!

According to the developers of Mo2 -> drag&drop, Vortex the same. But if you want to do it full yolo hardcore, do it manually this way:

1. download Plugin enabler and install per instructions
2. add this to your load order .txt file(without quotes) "NVR_NoVendorResources.esm"
3. move the file inside the .zip to your Starfield/Data folder
4. blatantly ignore anything said about MyGames in the past
5. done
