About this mod

Ever noticed how some items in vendor shops are not owned by the shop owner? This fixes that!

We Care A Lot!
What this?

Did you ever notice some items in vendor shops can be taken freely? A good example is Midtown Minerals in Akila City. This little tweak tries to fix that.

But why?

Because I've never seen a vendor in real life presenting items to sell, for you to just willy nilly take them, and he'd be happy about it you'd leave with them.

How's it done?

There was a game setting integer named "iCrimeStealDontCareValue", and it was set to 20. That meant that any item not considered "trash"(as misc item) and with a value <= 20 could be taken by the player with out ever commiting a criminal act.

Does that mean trash items are still considered trash?

Yes, ergo you can still just take them. It will also help you to determine if an item of value has it's ownership correctly set up, like books for example. The books in the same store do not have any ownership applied, so you can have your way with them. During my time searching for this particular issue I figured all sorts of half baken ownership setups pretty much all across the game cells. There's no ownership structure what so ever, and it's safe to say that virtually any place and cell is affected by this lazy approach.

This little mod will at least fix some of the random ownership issues.

How's it installed?

Done with currently experimental xEdit, so mind the risk!

According to the developers of Mo2 -> drag&drop, Vortex the same. But if you want to do it full yolo hardcore, do it manually this way:

1. download Plugin enabler and install per instructions
2. add this to your load order .txt file(without quotes) "WCAL_WeCareALot.esm"
3. move the file inside the .zip to your Starfield/Data folder
4. blatantly ignore anything said about MyGames in the past
5. done
