What this?


This makes the Red Mile less repetetive by doing the following:

1. the door to the Red Mile opens as soon as you ask Mei for a run
2. the quantity of runs necessary to top the ladder is reduced to 5(6)
3. the dialogue to ask for another run is available every time you finish the Red Mile and talk to Mei

It also makes it more difficult by doing this:

1. levels the Red Mile Mauler's with the Player, aka matches your level +5-10%
2. give the Mauler's much more health(+400% calculated against level)
3. spawns more Mauler's at once
4. occasionally adds Terrormorph Anomalies to the spawn list(yes, this big  giant motherload morph found in Londinium)

The experience gained for one successfull run is raised to 1.000xp(x10).

But Why?

1. the Red Mile isn't red...at all...that's my first effort to set a future course to turn it red
2. I probably ran the Red Mile 100 times already, and I'm fed up having to wait for all the scenes and dialogues, and that door opening after an eternity only

How was it done?

All edits, no custom. The dialogue/messages to match the new ladder quantity is directly edited, as well as the game settings/globals responsible for defining all the associated numbers. The Maulers also received a direct edit. Additionally the quest fragment script has been edited to handle the door opening with a timer to make sure it stays open, and the end quest fragment has been added a "fail" stage call to enable Mei's dialogue right away. The number of Mauler's and the Terrormorphs are handled inside the RedMileHandler script.

How to install?

Still made with experimental xEdit, so mind the risk. You will need the Plugin.txt Enabler.

This mod is proberly packed into a .ba2 format. So for any popular Mod Manager it should be drag&drop.

If you're like me and still can't be bothered to move away from manual install, you know the drill.

The plugin names is RMP_RedMilePowerplay.esm. Don't forget the *.

Any future plans?

We'll see. Maybe make requests? A future mod named the "Bloody Red Mile", or "The Crimson Red Mile" is already in planing stage. I'll quote myself from the Discord's mod wish section:

I see a trail of blood ranging from the runners entrance to the topside button. I see dead bodies everywhere, some still fresh dripping of blood to feed the stream. I see pockets of survivors going crazy because of their desperate situation to never return alive.

I see constant wars in between different animal and survivor factions, and I see spectators all around the pit.There would be a secondary trail favored by pirates, and it's name would be "The Crimson Mile". Terrormorphs and some of the most nasty aliens found around the settled systems, would turn the pit into a constantly deadly hell.

Ladders, tournaments, leagues, changing positions in a constant struggle for the most respected mosh pit survivor in the settled systems.
