This is an automagic way of making the scanner less tedious.  This is not a bat script and this file does not require running a bat file either manually or through your StarfieldCustom.ini file.

You can select from:
  • 75m, 100m, 150m, 250m, 500m*, 750m*, and 1000m* base ranges, (Vanilla game setting is 50m)
  • 2, 3, or 5 times the scanner range (that's 20, 30, or 50m)
  • 15, 20, or 25 skill point multiplier to scan range (Vanilla is 10)
  • Flora/fauna scans can be set to 1, 2, 3, or 4 scans to complete.

* WARNING extreme ranges may be beyond visual range and introduce lag.

Scanner base range = Highlightable but not scannable yet
Scanner range = Highlighted AND Scannable

Meaning setting my scanner range to 3x makes the base range I am able to scan stuff 30 meters.  Scanner skill bonus is fairly self-explanatory.

There is an option to set your StarfieldCustom.ini to highlight all over the screen rather than just in the circle.  If you want to do this, you can edit your ini, the settings are:

[Interface]
fScanHighlightDotAngle=0.2

[ResourceVeins]
fResourceDecalRenderRadiusFalloffPct=10
fResourceDecalRenderRadiusPct=10

Thanks to HaiTan95. leaving the above visible for now for those who may still want it.  The INI tweak option in the FOMOD does the same thing without modifying your StarfieldCustom.ini

INSTALLATION

  • Install plugins.txt enabler

  • MO2: Just download and install, it will automatically go where it belongs.
  • Vortex: Same as above :)

  • Manual: Not recommended, but.... Extract the 7z file using 7-Zip
  • Each folder contains ESM files.  Place your desired esms in your Data folder. If you want to install the INI tweak, you must copy both the iINI file and the ESM

Made with the official CK, but I only did 14 different mods (and 18 possible check boxes).  The old way I did it made a much more complicated FOMOD and required me to make something like 108 unique mods to give you less functionality than you have now.  Fortunately even though I'm now using up to 5 mod slots for this, they are Small Masters (old ESLs) that you can have 4096 of.
