Firefox BETA testing

From Nexus Mods Wiki

Reading through the topics on the forum I noticed that many Nexus users use Mozilla Firefox to browse the vast space we call Internet. So, being a Firefox user myself I think we all can help ourselves and others out by taking a closer look at the programs we use.

I think it's vitally important to know what we are doing while we surf the Internet and it's also very important to know how to protect ourselves from it's threats, but also take advantage of all it's features.

In an effort to keep up with the other browsers, the makers of Firefox encouraged it's users to be part of the team, so to speak.

Personally, I think this is what future programs will be like. People should be able to customize and obtain the best results to satisfy their own preferences so that each one of us can enjoy the most out of everything.

Let's start

First, you will need to install the new version of Firefox found here(looks great, really):

Firefox BETA

For those of you wanting to try out the BETA without uninstalling your current version, you can grab the portable BETA version which does not require being installed.

The next step would be to become what they call a TEST PILOT. Just like a beta tester for a Oblivion mod, but you'll be doing this for the sake of having a better Firefox, remember! :) Read more here:

Test Pilot FAQ

Nexus is a rather large community, but like everywhere else, only a bunch of people will be reading this, so make sure you tell your other real life friends about this and get them updated today. You will find more tips and general information about this here:

Firefox features

Good luck and welcome back to the modern age with your brand new Firefox look. It will take only a couple of minutes to install and you will be able to use both your older version and the new one in the same time.

Good luck and thanks for making the internet a safer place for you and for everyone else.

Helpful security add-ons

  • Web Of Trust (WoT) is a safe surfing tool for your browser. Traffic-light rating symbols show which websites you can trust when you search, shop and surf on the Web. It works immediately right out of the box.
  • NoScript will allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks. The default behavior is to block scripts from running on every site. You can temporarily or permanently allow scripts to run on a site but this requires action on your part.
