About this mod

Why waste time on exploiting the vanilla Divine Intervention when you instead can download the "Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch" and get a direct hotline to your deity that will take care of all your basic needs. It's time to make the Cleric great again :)

Permissions and credits
When it comes to classes, paladin takes the lead by some distance. Righteous! Cleric was the least popular choice, poor Shadowheart. (You
can always respec Origin characters if you want!)

Community Update #23: Here's To You

The truth always hurt! However, Clerics actually are the potentially most powerful class in all of Faerûn. It's all about their connection with their deity! This is explored a bit in Baldur's Gate 3 with the poorly implemented "one time only" Divine Intervention. The ability is mostly abused with the sub-skill "Arm Thy Servant" that summons the Devotee's Mace, then the Cleric respec again to a Cleric with Withers and summon it again (and repeats as necessary). Why? The base value of the Devotee's Mace is 640 gold, and it costs 100 gold to respec. Do the math :)

How to ascend with the "Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch"

Why waste time on exploiting the vanilla Divine Intervention when you instead can download the "Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch" and get a direct hotline to your deity that will take care of all your basic needs.

01. When you make your level 1 Cleric (or respec) simply go to the "Spells" section

02. Now choose wisely as you can only pick 3 spells at level 1.

  • After lot of play-testing on Tactician difficulty I highly recommend the "Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch - Bonus Action" version. Getting off "Divine Intervention: Opulent Revival" after a ally saved you is no easy task.
  • For veteran players I recommend Tactician Plus to artificially rise the difficulty even further in combination with "Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch".
  • The vanilla version of Divine Intervention still works the same i.e. you get it at level 10 as Cleric and can only use it one time (unless you exploit).
  • Does this mean that those spells can be cast at will like cantrips every round? Yes!
  • If you have already used the 1 time only Divine Intervention before installing the mod on a save the deity will permanently ignore you on that character until you respec it. As an example, respec out of Cleric then back again and all will be well. Gods a very fickle in their ways :)
  • What happens if ENEMY clerics start to use these spells!? I am using "AIFlags" "CanNotUse", but if I get reports of it not working properly I can force the AI to use a junk spell with "AI_ONLY" while the PC is going with "AI_IGNORE". The Dark Urge in me is silently hoping for the enemies to ignore the code and wake up like in the Terminator universe :)

Since you have read this far I'll let you in on a secret few know... Look at the picture below and tell me what class that is :)

Yes, Magic Initiate: Cleric is a feat in Baldur's Gate 3 that any class can take, and by doing that they get full access to the cantrips from Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch and Cleric - Sacred Flame Upgrade. :)

If you use plan to use this mod Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch together with Cleric - Sacred Flame Upgrade you MUST download the compatibility version from the Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch OPTIONAL FILES section.
  • Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch - Action - SF ver - This is the Action version.
  • Cleric - Unofficial Class Patch - B-Action - SF - This is the Bonus Action version.

Make sure you place "ClericUnofficialClassPatch" under "ClericSacredFlame". That way the "SpellLists.lsx" will overwrite with the merged settings and as you can see on the image both mods will work together <3

Two nice people (aquarainz and Calistin) managed to figure out the issues with Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager that many people had (including me). I have made a full guide based on their findings over at my Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager gamecrash fixer mod page. Please go there for further assistance.
