About this mod

Three new standalone skins for the Grendel and variants, selectable at the Weapons Workbench. "Candy Acid" is a flavorful variant of the vanilla Acid Rain, "Chrome" and "Gold" self explanatory. Weapon mods skinned too beyond vanilla: All barrels done, both lasers, both grips, suppressor, all sights, muzzles.

Here are three standalone new weapon skins for the Grendel available to craft at the Weapons Workbench. Two parts are needed to install: the .esm with the new data references, and the .ba2 goes next to it, it contains the new visual assets.

Unlike the vanilla skins, I have taken the time to make modified visuals for all of the weapon mod options: muzzles including suppressor, all barrels, both lasers, both grips, and all sights. 

These are coded to "Know by Default" so are immediately available at the Workbench. They require no mats to craft. 

Use with my Happytime Explosive Guns kit for maximum fun!   Currently resolving conflict with the standalone guns, either or both work fine, but still have to get the standalone guns to be able to use these new skins. Working on it. Conflict resolved.

Skins Added: 

  • Candy Acid - My personal new favorite, this is a highly modified version of the base game Acid Rain skin but in teals, pinks, purples, and black. This one uses original black color for Muzzle Brake and Iron Sights, all other options are skinned.    
  • Chrome - Not the most pure of a chrome look, but it is pretty close using only visual layers and not changing the meshes materials. Contains a denoised and cleaned Normal Mask layer to smooth out the "plastic" feel of original parts. 
  • Gold -  Turned out very nice! A good clean gold look which is very satisfying. Also contains a denoised and cleaned Normal Mask layer to smooth out the "plastic" feel of original parts.

Options: None at this time.

Requirements: like other .esm mods, you must get and set up the Plugins.txt Enabler, then add 
*Grendel-Skins-Minx.esm
to your Plugins.txt file.

Install: 
  • The .esm file and .ba2 file goes into your main game install /Data/ folder just like other .esm files. This could be something like E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data\Grendel-Skins-Minx.esm

Uninstall:  can try a manager or manually delete:
*main install location*/Starfield/Data/Grendel-Skins-Minx.esm

Problems: no major or minor problems or issues known at this time.

Suggested to get: check out the Weapon Skins Unlocked here on Nexus, it just unlocks any available vanilla weapon skins at the Workbench for guns that have skin variants.

Future Plans: Will probably circle back around to these later and do a few more variations for Grendel, but going to do a couple other weapons next. Going to make a couple for Microgun and try to make a Hitman Chrome standalone pistol workbench skin.
